The Fundraising Regulator has appointed Charlotte Urwin as its new Head of Policy.
Charlotte joins the Fundraising Regulator from the Marine Stewardship Council where she was Head of Standards, Policy and Assurance. Prior to this, Charlotte was the Head of Standards and Regulation at the Independent Press Standards Organisation (ISPO).
As Head of Policy, Charlotte will ensure that the Code of Fundraising Practice remains fit for purpose and encourages good fundraising practice across the charitable sector, as well as developing methods of public engagement on fundraising issues.
Charlotte brings a wealth of policy and charity sector knowledge to the Fundraising Regulator, having worked at Macmillan Cancer Support as a Senior Policy Analyst and at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity as a Strategy Adviser.
Gerald Oppenheim, Chief Executive of the Fundraising Regulator, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the team. Her breadth of experience in policy roles and the charity sector will be a great asset to the organisation as we look ahead to 2021 and will help us ensure that we maintain high levels of public trust and quality of fundraising.”
Speaking about her new role, Charlotte Urwin said:
“I am looking forward to working closely with fundraising organisations and stakeholders across the sector so that the Fundraising Regulator continues to deliver strong, independent regulation.”
