The appointment of one new board member and two existing members has been confirmed.
This follows a public, competitive process that concluded in March. Each board member will serve a three year term.
“I am extremely grateful to our board members. All have been invaluable.”
Jill Thompson, a chartered accountant with a background in investment banking, will join the board in July 2018. She is a trustee and treasurer of Breast Cancer Care and until recently sat on the investment committee of the Girl’s Day School Trust.
“Jill’s extensive knowledge of the sector and background in finance means she will bring excellent practical experience to the Fundraising Regulator’s Board table” said Lord Grade, chair of the Fundraising Regulator.
In addition, Jenny Williams and Sacha Deshmukh have been re-appointed as members to the board. Both have been members since the creation of the Fundraising Regulator in 2016. Membership of the board now stands at 10. This follows a decision by Lucy Caldicott, Chief Executive of UpRising, not to stand for reappointment at the end of her first term.
“I am also pleased that Jenny and Sacha will remain with us. I am extremely grateful to our board members. All have been invaluable in our formative phase and have provided expertise, hard work and commitment. Not least in the development of the Fundraising Preference Service and the management of the Code of Fundraising Practice” said Lord Grade.
”We will announce the appointment of a further new board member in the summer.”
